The Jewel in the Street Program (JITSP) is a life-transforming social empowerment initiative under the Africa Initiative Impact Program (AIIP). It is designed to uplift vulnerable girls and women—especially head porters (Kayayei), street hawkers, domestic escapees, and economically displaced young women—by restoring their dignity and helping them realize their potential through training, mentorship, and structured reintegration into society.

These "jewels" of the street are often forgotten, unseen, and unheard. JITSP seeks to recognize their worth, refine their skills, and reintroduce them to the world as empowered, skilled, and confident contributors to Africa's development.
