Africa Initiative Impact Program Partners with FIBGN to Launch First-Ever Halal Forum in Tunisia
TUNIS, Tunisia — The Africa Initiative Impact Program (AIIP) has announced a landmark partnership with FIBGN to host the continent’s first-ever Halal Forum, set to take place in Tunis, Tunisia, from September 28 to October 1, 2026.
The historic gathering will convene policymakers, investors, and entrepreneurs from across Africa and around the globe to explore emerging opportunities within the rapidly expanding $7.7 trillion halal industry.
A Growing Global Market
The halal economy — spanning food and beverage, finance, tourism, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and fashion — has emerged as one of the fastest-growing sectors worldwide, driven by a global Muslim population projected to exceed 2.2 billion by 2030. Industry analysts note that Africa, home to over 500 million Muslims and abundant agricultural and manufacturing resources, remains significantly underrepresented in the global halal supply chain despite its vast potential.
Building Bridges Across Continents
Over four days, the forum will feature panel discussions, investment showcases, and networking sessions designed to connect African entrepreneurs with international halal industry leaders. Topics expected to be addressed include halal certification standards, Islamic finance, supply chain development, and strategies for scaling African halal businesses into global markets.
“This partnership represents a significant milestone for Africa’s participation in the global halal economy,” organizers said in a statement. “By bringing together the right stakeholders under one roof, we aim to unlock investment pathways and create lasting economic opportunities across the continent.”
