Edmund Eyram Afun-Peters is a Public Policy Analyst, Development Advocate, and Researcher with multidisciplinary expertise spanning law, governance, economic policy, youth development, and strategic leadership across Africa.
Driven by a vision of inclusive and sustainable development, Edmund actively contributes to Africa’s socio-political transformation through rigorous policy analysis, strategic engagement, and development-oriented research. His work is grounded in a firm belief that Africa’s progress depends on selfless leadership, accountable governance, and a citizenry committed to integrity, innovation, and collective purpose.
At the Africa Initiative Impact Program (AIIP), Edmund serves as a Public Policy Analyst, where he undertakes critical analysis of existing policies across key sectors within African economies. His work focuses on identifying structural and institutional gaps in governance frameworks and advancing practical, evidence-based policy solutions. His areas of specialization include trade and economic policy, youth development, strategic leadership, and the legal and institutional frameworks that drive national development.
Beyond policy review, Edmund plays an active role in shaping policy direction by identifying governance deficiencies and proposing innovative public policies tailored to Africa’s unique socio-economic realities. At AIIP, he contributes to a results-oriented approach to governance; one that emphasizes not only policy formulation but also effective implementation. This includes engaging with governments and key stakeholders to ensure that policy recommendations translate into measurable development outcomes.
In addition, Edmund serves as Deputy Project Lead (Policy & Strategy) with the National Drivers & Transport Conference (NADATRAC), where he leads research and policy analysis on transport and road safety, collaborates with public and private sector stakeholders, and supports the integration of data-driven recommendations into sectoral programmes.
Edmund is also passionate about academic development and has trained individuals in research methodologies, reflecting his broader commitment to knowledge dissemination and capacity building. His growing interest in academia complements his practical policy work, positioning him at the intersection of research and real-world impact.
He holds a Diploma in Public Administration from the Institute of Accountancy Training and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Professional Studies, Accra, alongside additional professional certifications that support his analytical and leadership capabilities.
A strong advocate for non-partisan, evidence-based policymaking, Edmund aspires to become one of Africa’s leading policy analysts and consultants; delivering insights and strategies that are both contextually relevant and development-driven.
